FOOD REVIEW: LUNCHBOX AT RONAC ART CENTER

Chard and I decided to visit Lunchbox a few Sundays ago since it’s just near my house. I’ve seen this restaurant get featured in Food Magazine and one of the lifestyle shows that I forget the name.

We were actually surprised to be the only customers when we got there and it was past 12 already.

I was not particularly impressed with anything that we ordered. Yes the place feels kind of homey but the food was not. I had high hopes with the carbonara – it was good, but “nakakaumay” halfway through the meal. It had huge chunks of bacon though which is a plus for me. It means that they don’t use the usual commercial bacon we buy from the grocery. Chard ordered pork stew and to me, it tasted like cream of mushroom soup with pieces of pork. The soup was unusually sweet to me, it doesn’t tasted savory sweet to me.

I had really high expectations with this restaurant. I really like the look and feel of the place but too bad it was not translated very well in the food that we ordered.
