Yes I know it’s June already and it’s already starting to rain here in Manila. But you cannot deny the fact that the weather still very very hot, yes? So I’ve gathered my most used base products for the past months.
Benefit Boing concealer in 02 and 03. This is my go to concealer for covering the redness around my nose and the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. I combine both shades but use more of color 03. It covers pretty well and can stand the heat so it stays put all day.
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach Bisque. I use this to cancel out the my dark undereyes. I don’t have very dark circles but this helps brighten up that area and give my face a fresh look.
Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in shade 32 Beige Clair. This is fairly pigmented for a CC cream. This has better coverage than Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer. That does not mean I don’t love it for the summer though. It’s still light on the skin with better coverage. Bourjois claims for it to be “anti-fatigue, anti-redness and anti-dark spots” and they are spot on. When using this cc cream, I can skip my Bobbi Brown corrector because it bring luminosity under my eyes without the shimmer. I also use less concealer around my nose where I usually have redness. I set this with Rimmel Stay Matte powder and I’m good for the day.
Laura Merceir Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer in shade Nude. Lightweight? Yes. Sheer? Yes. So for days I don’t need that much coverage, I use this tinted moisturizer. It evens my skintone fairly well and brightens up my face. Since it’s sheer, I need to use corrector for my undereye circles and concealer for the redness around my nose area.
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in Translucent. I use this to set my foundation and concealer. Although it claims to keep oil at bay for 5 hours, it keeps me matte for an extra 3-4 hours before I need to blot. It’s translucent so it does not mess with the color of your foundation. Cheap and awesome beauty products, for the win!
Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover. I snagged this at Landmark Makati for only 899 pesos. The compact was worth 399~ish I think and I got it for free! Yey for discounted beauty buys! Some days instead of using Rimmel Stay Matte powder, I use this pressed powder to set my foundation and concealer. This makes my skin super smooth! Like a doll, really. It makes my face oil-free for the next 5-6 hours just like the Rimmel powder. It covers my pores very well and keeps oil at bay so this is an awesome product for my oily skin.
MAC Fix+ Spray. Yes I know this is cheating. This is not really a base product however, I use it to set my base/overall makeup. It makes my makeup stay in place while giving me a sort of porcelain looking skin. And by porcelain, that doesn’t mean I look unnatural to the point of being doll-like.
That’s it. Hope you got some ideas on what to use for the summer time. Do you use any of these? What are your summer favorite base?
