Morning and Evening Skincare Routine

I started using any type of skincare item when I was 23 and it was only because I liked the smell of my cousin’s moisturizer. My very first moisturizer was from Origins: A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer with White Tea. I swear it smells so good. For the next 4-5 years, I used this as my night time moisturizer. I didn’t use any during day time because this was too emollient and I don’t want extra moisture on my already oily skin.

Early last year, atfer realizing that I was getting older and  felt the need for a day time moisturizer, I’ve finally incorporated this into my morning skin care routine. Actually, it was not even a routine since this was the only thing I slap on my face before I put on makeup. I’ve switched to a different moisturizer since early this year though. You’ll see in my list below.

I am not acne prone and I’d like to think I am blessed with pretty good skin. I have oily skin and get the occasional hormonal breakout when the time of the months comes, but that’s it. My skin is pretty much clear most of the month.

My skin wasn’t this clear during my younger years though.  When I was at the age of 16-20, I remember my mom bringing me and my sister to the dermatologist to a facial. We get the usual “cleaning” – they prick your skin to get rid of the blackheads and whiteheads on your face.

Fast forward to today.  Since I now have a real skincare routine, I want to share this with you and hopefully you can pick up something to add to your current routine.

Before we go to cleansers, I’d like to let everyone know that if I am wearing makeup, I remove it prior to using cleansers. These days, I love using Bifesta Sebum Cleansing Lotion and The Face Shop’s Tissue Specialist Green Tea Cleansing Wipes.

Cleansers

Origins Check and Balances Frothy Face Wash. This is a creamy cleanser that does it’s job and does not sting my eyes. I usually use this in the morning because it’s light on the skin.

Origins A Perfect World Anti-oxidant Cleanser with White Tea. I’ve recently snagged this from my mom’s bathroom since she’s not using and I am almost out of my Checks and Balances. This smells exactly like the moisturizer counterpart. I mostly use this at night because it’s more effective getting rid of whatever makeup left on my skin.

VMV Hydrabalance Smart Gentle Cream Cleanser for Combination Skin.  This is a very creamy cleanser – even creamier than Checks and Balances. Since its’s VMV, this is hypoallergenic and has no scent. I really like this better than Checks and Balances because I feel like it does a better job in making my face clean.

Origins Modern Friction (not in photo). This is an exfoliator so I only use it once a week. It has rice starch and my skin is sensitive to these kinds of exfoliants when used daily. This cleanser stings my eyes big time. But it really makes my skin very smooth after. Love love love.

    1. Hi Jel! Yep I think sa Rustans lang. 🙁 If you have friends going abroad, better to buy sa duty free. 🙂

  1. Im glad that you’re so faithful to your routines! I’ve read really good stuff about origins and nakakaintriga siya dahil you have so much of origins products!
