As much as I love putting on makeup, I make it a point to remove all my makeup before I go to bed. I know a day can get very tiresome and it’s very tempting to just plop to the bed and sleep. But your skin needs to breathe, people. You need to remove all the things that you piled on your face.
These are the things that I currently use to remove all my makeup:
Eyes. the Balm BALMS AWAY. This is the first step of my makeup removal routine. It’s what I use to breakdown all my eye makeup. This effectively melts all the waterproof mascara and liner that I use. The consistency of this product reminds me of petroleum jelly. I think a huge part of the ingredients list is actually petroleum jelly. It does not sting my eyes so I think is awesome!
After breaking down my eye makeup, I use 1 full pump of Bifesta Sebum Cleansing Lotion on a round cotton pad and use it to wipe off my eye makeup. I have organic pads from The Body Shop but you can get cheap and effective ones like Cuddles/Cleene in the grocery. (I got the TBS ones on sale. :P) When I see that I still have panda eyes, I soak a cotton bud in Bifesta to remove the leftover eyeliner from my waterline. Face. I get another cotton pad and use 2 full pumps to remove the rest of my face makeup. Sometimes, instead of using Bifesta, I use The Face Shop Tissue Specialist Tea Tree Facial Wipes to wipe away my eye makeup and to remove the rest of my makeup.
I really like this facial wipe because it removes makeup well without the tissue getting ripped off easily. It’s not that thick but it’s definitely durable enough to remove and absorb all the grime from your face.
Although it’s fun to make yourself beautiful with makeup, it’s important to make sure to take good care of our skin by making sure that it’s nice and clean before going to sleep.
Do you use any of these cleansers? What’s your favorite ones to use?
