I have been using this product for more than a week now and I think I am ready to give my two cents on this. I bought this the day after its launch. Yes, I was that excited for Happy Skin’s new product launch. ūüėõ Initially, I was more excited to try the new and permanent shades of the Shut Up and Kiss Me lippies but when I swatched them in store, I knew I had dupes of them in my stash. ¬†I ended up checking out¬†this¬†new version of SS cream which is catered to acne prone and sensitive skin. Who could resist the cute and bright-looking tube? Looking at the swatch, I knew I have something similar to this consistency and shade. Yes, the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream – which I have yet to review. I tested it on my jaw and the shade looks perfect on my light-medium skin tone. I trusted the claim that it’s for sensitive skin so I bit the bullet and off to the cashier I went.

The Zit Zapper Second Skin Cream is Happy Skin’s new double-letter cream that fights zits while looking great! It instantly lends the skin a natural veil that smoothens the surface, while a soft-focus powder minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines. Cool, ultra light, and non-greasy, the ZZ Cream also boasts an oil control powder finish that fights unwanted shine. A special bright up powder utilizes light to give skin a healthy and natural radiance. Blemished skin looks instantly good and skin quality improves with continued use giving you a clearer complexion. Wear it everyday, all-day without the need to hide!

Application and Shade. I noticed that using your¬†fingers works better to apply this because it warms up the product so it spreads evenly on your¬†face. I have oily skin and the consistency is perfect for my skin because it’s not dewy.¬†That’s what makes this product awesome because it brightens and evens your complexion without giving you the dewy look. It sets to a powder finish pretty quickly so you need to¬†blend fast. This is available in one shade and i think it will suit people with light to medium skin tone. People with darker skin tone should try it on the counter first because this might appear too pale for¬†their¬†skin. It has a pretty good coverage – I’d say light to medium. Use your favorite concealer for your undereyes and spots and you’re good to go.

Skincare benefits. This has SPF 20 PA++ so you may¬†skip your sunscreen if you’re not going to be under the sun too much. If you’re acne prone, this will be beneficial to you because this contains Salicylic acid that can help calm down breakouts. I am seriously loving the added skincare benefits of this beauty product. Not only does it make you look pretty¬†but it¬†is also good for your skin!¬†Just so you know, I tried¬†Don’t Get Mad, Get Even Hydrating Liquid Foundation¬†when it was first released but it broke me out. However with this ZZ cream, it did not break me out plus I really noticed improvement in the texture of my skin – ¬†it has become smoother.

I usually set this with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder or Urban Decay setting powder and the product stays for at least 9 hours before it starts to fade. Here are photos of me using the ZZ cream and fully made up.

It’s not cheap at 1,399 pesos¬†but I’d still recommend it because of the added skincare benefits. And it’s local. I really think we should support more local brands.

  1. I tried this out yesterday and I liked it, but I certainly wish there were more colors. It’s a shade lighter than me. Not all that noticeable, but I tend to get OC with bases, so I have to think carefully before deciding to buy.

    1. True. Their original SS cream had 3 shades, not sure why they didn’t release the same for this. It was kind of light on me too, but it kinda oxidizes on me so I am ok with it. I couldn’t use it during colder months though. I keep having dry patches on my nose that this foundation accentuates.
