I got a few items from the recently released Alluring Aquatic and Kelly Osbourne Collection from MAC Cosmetics. These were released last May and June 2014 respectively in the US.
Alluring Aquatic Extra Dimension Bronzer in Aphrodite’s Shell.
I was able to try this bronzer during a visit to MAC’s counter in SM Megamall last July. I was initially looking for one of their lipsticks because it was featured in Maxine‘s blog. This bronzer is not very pigmented so it’s hard to overdo it. It turned me off at first but the SA said he’d apply it on me and it looked beautiful. If you check out the swatch, it has a slight sheen to it but it’s not very visible on the skin. It has a slight orange-brown tint that’s quite flattering on the skin. For very pale girls, you can use this to contour, but for light-medium skinned people like me, this is a great product to give your skin a little bit more color. This would be perfect to use on beach outings. A swipe or two of this on your cheeks will give you that sun-kissed glow. I bought this from Carefreeshopper (
they still have stock! Oops, no more stocks. 🙁 ) since it was already out of stock in MAC then.
Check out more products after the cut!
Alluring Aquatic Cremesheen Lipstick in Goddess of the Sea.
This was the item I was lemming and the reason I went to a MAC store after reading Max’s review on it. Packaging is super cute! Look at those water droplets design – it looks real, right? It’s not printed but instead embossed on the tube as part of the design. The closest shade I have to this in my stash is Up the Amp but Goddess of the Sea is a little warmer and looks more plum. Muted plum, actually. Up the Amp looks more like a cool toned purple. It’s a Cremesheen and my lips couldn’t be happier. Staying power is quite good as it leaves a stain after 5-6 hours of wear and even after eating dinner.
Kelly Osbourne Satin Blush in Cheeky Bugger.
Cheeky Bugger didn’t impress me very much. It is a slightly cool peach-pink blush that is not pigmented. Look at my swatch, it’s barely noticeable on my arm. I bought this one because I don’t have anything similar to this shade, thinking it has a good pigmentation. It’s powdery to the point that when you swirl your brush, a good amount of product is left loosely on top. Good thing it looks better on my cheeks and like all other MAC blushes, this blush oxidizes on me. After 3-4 hours, it will appear darker and turn to a pretty nice coral-toned shade that leans on the warmer side.
Kelly Osbourne Collections’s Philippine release is coming soon so check out your nearest MAC stores just in case you dig this kind of blush.
