If you look at my makeup drawers, you’d see that lipsticks take up a lot of space so it’s just appropriate that I do this tag. This was created by two of my favorite beauty bloggers Amelia and Estee. Since I don’t have a beauty channel, I decided to just do this on this space.
Favorite balm or treatment?
Korres Lip Butter. I have mine in Mango and it smells so good. When I use it as my night time lip treatment, I always wake up with soft, moisturized lips! This gives your lips a sheer wash of orange tint that’s not very sticky. Just <3.
Favorite eye catching red?
Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Bigbang. Look at that shade. Come on. That shade says it all. If you want to read more about this shade, here’s a link to my review.
See more after the cut!
Best luxury and drugstore?
Luxury: I think my YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks are the most luxurious in my stash. First of all, the packaging is gorgeous. It has some weight to it that really spells LUXURY. I have the shade Peach Passion and one of the Volupte Shine version in Fuchsia in Rage. I like the fuchsia shade better because it sits better on my lips. The peach one is beautiful but it is just too creamy and slippy for me so I usually need a gloss to use on top.
Drugstore: I gotta hand this to Avon Ultra Color Lipsticks. I have the shades Hibiscus and Berry Bright. They’re cheap at 379 pesos and the color payoff is amazing! It’s creamy and has a bit of shine to it plus it’s moisturizing too! It doesn’t dry up my lips and stays on for hours. I was wearing Berry Bright today since 8:30 am, had fried chicken for lunch and carbonara for dinner and though it’s not as intact as how it was in the morning, there’s still a bit of stain left on my lips . Good job, Avon! ^_^ (watch out for a separate post on this 😛)
Best MAC lipstick?
I think Rebel was my very first MAC lipstick. 3 years ago, I wanted Heart Evangelista’s vampy lips and during that time MAC was the only brand that I am familiar with. Rebel looks very vampy on tube but for me, it’s the perfect plum shade. If I want a bold lip but I don’t want a red or a pink shade, I always go for Rebel. It’s leaves your lips a beautiful warm-purpley pink stain that is just lovely. I’ll probably show you lip swatches on a separate blog post so watch out for that. It’s a creamy satin that sits well on my lips and doesn’t flake at the end of the day.
The most disappointing?
Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-hour lipstick. It’s not cheap at 26 USD and it feels heavy on the lips. 🙁 No wonder they already discontinued this product.
Lip Liner: Yes or No?
I’ve got a few lip liners (I counted, I have 5) and I admit that I do not use them every day. I used to have more but I gave them away. So I’m a bit on the fence with this question but I’d go with yes since I use MAC’s Cherry with a bold lip and I super love my Ever Bilena lip liners topped with a gloss.
I am not a gloss person before because I hate when my hair sticks to my lips and messes the rest of my makeup. I think I currently just have 4 lip gloss and Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lip Gloss in Berry Brilliance is my favorite. It’s not very sticky and it’s pigmented. It looks great on it own or on top of lipstick. See this post wherein i used this gloss.
I just want to give a shout out to Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Lipsticks because they’re local and they’re awesome. They’re very lightweight and moisturizing. If you want to read more, here’s a link to my previous post.
