This is one of series of lip product posts you can watch out for. Since the lip product addict tag post, I discovered that there are other awesome lip products in my stash that I haven’t talked about here. So yeah, let’s start with the newest in my stash: Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Peony.
Review comes after the cut.
Packaging. It’s neatly housed in a squeeze type tube with a twisty gold cap. And instead of the usual doe foot applicator, the product comes out of a felt tip applicator. I think this is the only lip product that I have that has this kind of packaging which makes it sort of unique. It’s a little bigger than your usual lipstick tube as you can see in the photo.
Shade. This shade is a light, yellow based pink that applies smoothly because of the creamy texture. As you can see from the swatch, it is very opaque. The swatch on the right side is one swipe only and the one beside it has 3 swipes.
Longevity. I never expected this to last long because of the creamy texture. This never really sets matte on the lips and it’s slightly moisturizing for about 2-3 hours. After 5 hours and after eating carbonara, the product was surprisingly still there – not full on but there’s about 50-60% of it on my lips. Also, I find that it becomes patchy after 6 hours of wear especially after reapplying. So errr. Not sure if I’d like to pay more than 20USD for a product like that.
Since it’s quite expensive, I had high expectations on this and I was not overly happy about this. It’s quite good and I’d probably get 1 or 2 more of the darker shades. Until I get to try the darker shades, I am still 50/50 about this.
