Happy skin, happy skin, oh where do I begin? /dreamy eyes
Pardon my fail poetic attempt right there. Last Oct 13, Happy Skin turned 1! And they sure celebrated with a bang because of the wide array of new products they released. On the party, they launched their holiday collection, a deluxe set of of eyeliners, an eyeshadow palette, and the lip and cheek mousse! I was so excited about the lip and cheek mousse that I couldn’t wait for November to get it. ;_; I am weak people, I am weak.
So here’s the loot! I just got them yesterday and I know a lot of you will probably want to see swatches and pics of these babies! I bought the new Forbidden Fruit Lippie Set which contains the 3 new holiday lippies. I was sucked in because it’s cheaper to get 3 than get them individually. It’s 549 each if you buy them individually and 466.33 each if you get it in the set. Bargain, see?
Under The Sheets . This is a nude shade with a lot of brown undertone in it. It actually looks a lot like terracotta brown especially on my lips. This nude will look very nice on people with medium-dark skintone. I appreciate this nude though. 🙂 I like orange-browny nudes.
Naughty and Nice. It’s a fall shade, people. If you are scared to sport bold lips but would like a beautiful plum shade, this is it. It’s a muted warm plum shade that’s perfect for fall. I know we don’t have fall here but we can all pretend. I love love this shade. The most similar shade on my stash is MAC’s Goddess of the Sea, but it’s a little more cool toned and I like Happy Skin’s formula better.
Mistletoe Kiss. This is your perfect holiday red. It’s a bright red that has a little bit of brown that makes it sort of a brick red if you look at it closely. It doesn’t show much on pictures but I seriously see brick red in it. I will surely wear this on Christmas. It’s so pretty <3
Formula. I think they changed the formula of these lippies. They actually improved on it. They glide easier on the lips, feel a lot more creamy and pigmented. This seriously feels like my Givenchy lipsticks – except that Givenchy slightly feels heavier on the lips.
If you’re a fan of the previous lippies, you’re going to love these as well. I highly recommend you try this set or at least one of the holiday lippies. I heard they’re permanent so there is no need to rush but if you happen to pass by Beauty Bar or Plains and Prints, just swatch these and see for yourself. I am currently in love with them. <3
Now on to my favorite product out of all the releases: The Shut Up and Kiss Me Lip and Cheek Mousse. I chose Warm and Toasty because I am into nudes these days. I am looking for the perfect matte nude color and formula. I like nudes with beige-peachy tones and I really like how this looks on me. It doesn’t make me look too pale.
This shade is a warm toned peach with beige undertones. I love how versatile this product is. It is creamy enough to be blended well on the cheeks using your fingers. I am wearing this as blush on all the photos on this post. On the cheeks, it looks peachy brown and gives your cheeks some subtle color. On my lips it looks beige-nude and I find it flatters my yellow toned skin. I am leaving for South Korea tomorrow and this tube will surely be going in my travel makeup bag!
Overall, I am quite pleased with the new releases from Happy Skin. I highly recommend you try everything I posted here. I am a big fan of their previous releases and these new ones did not disappoint. 🙂
Oh, they just opened an online store so if you want to buy their products, visit their site: Happy Skin Online Shop. They have an ongoing promo for the first 100 online shoppers. They also offer international shipping.
