It was a rainy Saturday morning then. We were supposed to go to Enchanted Kingdom for a our office Christmas party but we ended up not going because – RAIN. Laziness took over and we decided to just spend the afternoon away and watch a movie.
Va Bene is located in the BGC Central Cinemas, 3rd floor. It’s the newest building in BGC that opened last April 30. Finally, a movie house in that area, yey! The place didn’t have an eye-catching sign so we almost missed it when we walked around the floor. If you get lost, look for (the very soshal) Potato Corner and the restaurant is right across it.
We already researched before coming here so we knew this restaurant is pricey. It would definitely set you back 500-600 pesos per person. We ordered 3 items, pasta, soup and pasta and our bill was 1,200 pesos. We just shared everything we ordered. We had Zuppa, creamy mushroom soup and it tasted like mushroom soup but the taste is elegantly elevated because they used different kinds of mushrooms. Portobello was the flavor that stood out the most. For salad, we ordered Polipo which has octopus, sundried tomatoes, olives and arugula dressed in lemon dressing. This was so good! It’s tart and refreshing, and surprisingly ok for me even though I am acidic. I can’t eat anything too sour.
For main, we had Organic Eggs Tagliatelle. The pasta was obviously freshly made since it tasted quite different. I am so used to store bought dry pasta that I know when the pasta is fresh. Fresh pasta tastes more chewy and I totally enjoyed it with the sauce. To be honest, the sauce tastes similar to the mushroom based soup we ordered. I think it’s largely because of the mushrooms. But it’s still good anyway.
Overall, it’s enjoyable to eat in Va Bene because you get the freshest ingredients for the price you pay. We’d definitely come back and try other pasta dishes because I know they have so much more to offer.

I haven’t posted an FOTD in a while but I have something exciting in store for you in this post. We had our office Christmas party last Monday and the theme was red carpet glam. We never had a party that’s this formal before so I was excited to do my makeup. I didn’t want to have my hair fixed so I searched for youtube tutorial and decided to do Estee’s hair tutorial. It’s quite easy to do, just make sure to prep your hair if you have long and thick hair like mine. All you need is a headband, bobby pins, texturizing spray and hair spray to hold everything in place. Watch her tutorial, it’s so easy peasy!
It’s finally December, yey! I see my schedule already filled with Christmas parties and dinners. I am currently finalizing a Christmas get together with my college barkada. We only meet once a year, I know it sucks, but what can we do, we’re all busy people. I also just prepped our family’s kris kringle 2 days ago and posted the wishlist board near the dining table. It’s not really a board but an old page of a calendar and I used the clean side to create the wishlist post. All of this is aside from the fact that roads are always jam-packed because of the holiday rush. I seriously hate going out when I know that I’ll be stuck in traffic. But what can I do, I need to do my Christmas shopping. My mom and I had a good headstart last week when we went to Regalong Pambahay warehouse along Pioneer last Saturday. I was in the same compound Wednesday that week because of the Luxasia sale, when I saw that the ad for Regalong Pambahay group of brands. EGG had bags that were 100 pesos only. Ding ding ding~! It got me interested so I asked my mom if she wanted to come with me.
