Prabal Gurung teamed up with MAC for this collection. This was released last December 2014 here in Manila. He’s a Nepalese American fashion designer based in New York City. He’s pretty young at 35. His designs have been worn by famous celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga among others.
I wasn’t planning to buy anything in this collection when I saw Temptalia’s post on this. But when I passed by MAC’s counter in Glorietta one weekend last December, I swatched Carmine Rouge and I was super impressed by the texture and shade and I knew I had to go home with it.
After seasons of backstage-to-runway beauty partnerships, M·A·C and Prabal Gurung debut their highly anticipated makeup collaboration. The modern glamour and immaculate style of the designer comes to life with M·A·C in an exclusive colour collection featuring smoky, gilded hues for eyes, lips and cheeks in ultra-luxurious, custom gold packaging.
The packaging looks immaculate. Come on, look at that. It’s a far cry from the usual MAC bullet that can be a little boring. This packaging reminds me of YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks. It has a weight on it too, so it feels more luxurious than the black bullet. Packaging gets an A+ from me!

During one of my Beauty Bar visits, I chanced upon swatching Youngblood eyeshadow quads. There were some quads in their sale section but it was all purples and blues which didn’t appeal to me very much. I am one of those who lean towards neutral eyeshadows. I went to the regular line and checked out the eyeshadow quads and I swatched the most amazing warm taupey-mauve shade in the world. It’s so creamy and pigmented and has the most beautiful sheen huhu but the palette is so freaking expensive. It’s more than 2500 pesos. Really for a quad?! I don’t want to spend too much since I know I only liked one eyeshadow. So I tried roaming around looking for dupes for that particular eyeshadow. I found alternatives in the Total Intensity line of Prestige. They are both my first duochrome eyeshadows and I think I am in love. <3

Winter is not yet over so I think it’s still not too late to talk about about bold lips. Most specifically, berry lips. I love dark lips. Be it red or plum/berry – I really love the look of it. It’s a great color that can easily brighten up your bare face. I remember seeing Heart Evangelista on TV 4 years ago sporting a beautiful vampy lip and I thought to myself: I want a lip stick like that. I asked my aunt from the US to buy me my very first MAC lipstick, REBEL. I loved it so much that I didn’t bother to buy or look for any other plum lipsticks. It’s a dark purple that looks great opaque and looks great when sheered out as well. It also fades gorgeously into a light purple/pinkish stain. This is probably the “driest” of them all when it comes to texture. It’s a satin so it has a bit of a shine, but it feels a little bit drying on the lips as I wear it throughout the day.

Ever since Mega Fashion Hall opened, our food choices in SM Megamall have not been limited to Yabu and Jipan anymore. Chard and I obviously love Japanese cuisine. So when we were deciding on our lunch date last Saturday, we decided to try a restaurant we haven’t visited yet.

I got this palette for 1,900 pesos at Benefit Mall of Asia last November. If you’re one of the few people who were able to snag this, lucky you! This retails for 36USD in the US and in my opnion, the selling price of 1,900 pesos is not bad. Considering the tax, price difference is not that much compared to other Benefit products. And it’s limited edition, plus you get 5 blushes, 1 bronzer and 1 highlighter. A good deal, right?
I don’t own any of Benefit’s box o’ powders and that gave me the incentive to snag this set. I was not suppose to get this because I ordered the Hourglass Ambient Blush palette. But when I saw Benefit Philippine’s IG post last November and saw the price in the comments section, I made it a mission to get one. It was just too tempting to resist.

I was dreading this day. January 5. That means I have to go back to work. NOOOOOOO. /sadface. Our office has a shutdown and the 3-week vacation flew by so quickly I felt it was not enough. Who’s with me on this?
So to get me going last Monday, I decided to document it and kick off 2015 with my seventh FOTD post. Painting my face with makeup was the only thing that got me excited for work.
