Hello everyone. I know, I know. I have not posted for 6 months. I was lazy and all because all I want to do during my idle time is sleep and lay in bed. Work has been stressing me out. It hasn’t improved but I am coping. Oh well.
Anyway, let’s get down to business. I am here with a new post about Happy Skin. It’s been a while since I last talked about their products on my blog. If you’re a Happy Skin fan, by now, you should know that they released a matte version of their moisturizing lippie. The shades that I have here are from their tie up with Plains and Prints. Plains and Prints also release a clothing line with this collection. Continue reading Happy Skin Prints Made Pretty Lippies (Review and Swatches)→
Wassup, I am back with another post! I recently went on a trip to Melbourne and I thought of doing a blogpost of what makeup I’d bring there. But then things got crazy so I wasn’t able to make the post. So now that I am back, I am able to gather my thoughts and do a post that will hopefully be helpful to travellers.
I was in Melbourne for 9 days, it was near the end of winter. Cold, but not snowing. So I opted for dewy foundations/tinted moisturizer and decided to leave the powder behind. I made sure I had all lip color options, a pink, a red, a nude. As much as possible, I stayed away for mattes because it will dry my lips more. I brought a gloss because I know it will save me in the cold weather. I had two cheek options too- one cream and one powder. I brought cream shadow sticks and an eyeshadow palette. As for brushes, I brought a buffing brush, a blush brush, stippling brush and 2 eye brushes. I was able to fit everything in 3 pouches – that include skincare, body care and makeup. I was quite impressed with my packing skills if I may say.
I recently acquired Happy Skin’s Girls Night Out Lippie and when I wore it for the first time, I knew I had a similar shade in my stash. I’ve professed my love for MAC’s Rebel several times in my blog. Evidence 1 and 2. And I think Girls Night Out is a local dupe for it.
Girls Night Out is a little glossier because Rebel is a satin which is almost matte. In the photo below, I am wearing both lipsticks. Can you even tell the difference?
I am actually wearing Rebel on left side, and Girls Night Out on the right. But seriously, I couldn’t even tell the difference. MAC is locally priced at 1,000 pesos and Happy Skin is almost half the price at 549 pesos. If you’re on a budget, I say go with Happy Skin!
Happy skin, happy skin, oh where do I begin? /dreamy eyes
Pardon my fail poetic attempt right there. Last Oct 13, Happy Skin turned 1! And they sure celebrated with a bang because of the wide array of new products they released. On the party, they launched their holiday collection, a deluxe set of of eyeliners, an eyeshadow palette, and the lip and cheek mousse! I was so excited about the lip and cheek mousse that I couldn’t wait for November to get it. ;_; I am weak people, I am weak.
I have been using this product for more than a week now and I think I am ready to give my two cents on this. I bought this the day after its launch. Yes, I was that excited for Happy Skin’s new product launch. 😛 Initially, I was more excited to try the new and permanent shades of the Shut Up and Kiss Me lippies but when I swatched them in store, I knew I had dupes of them in my stash. I ended up checking out this new version of SS cream which is catered to acne prone and sensitive skin. Who could resist the cute and bright-looking tube? Looking at the swatch, I knew I have something similar to this consistency and shade. Yes, the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream – which I have yet to review. I tested it on my jaw and the shade looks perfect on my light-medium skin tone. I trusted the claim that it’s for sensitive skin so I bit the bullet and off to the cashier I went.
I am so excited to share with you my rave for this awesome lip product from Happy Skin. Happy Skin is a local brand founded by Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez and Rissa Mananquil-Trillo. Rissa is one of the few people in the modeling industry that I admire. So when I heard the buzz about the company on Instagram, I know I’m in for something great.
