Wassup, I am back with another post! I recently went on a trip to Melbourne and I thought of doing a blogpost of what makeup I’d bring there. But then things got crazy so I wasn’t able to make the post. So now that I am back, I am able to gather my thoughts and do a post that will hopefully be helpful to travellers.
I was in Melbourne for 9 days, it was near the end of winter. Cold, but not snowing. So I opted for dewy foundations/tinted moisturizer and decided to leave the powder behind. I made sure I had all lip color options, a pink, a red, a nude. As much as possible, I stayed away for mattes because it will dry my lips more. I brought a gloss because I know it will save me in the cold weather. I had two cheek options too- one cream and one powder. I brought cream shadow sticks and an eyeshadow palette. As for brushes, I brought a buffing brush, a blush brush, stippling brush and 2 eye brushes. I was able to fit everything in 3 pouches – that include skincare, body care and makeup. I was quite impressed with my packing skills if I may say.
If you look at my makeup drawers, you’d see that lipsticks take up a lot of space so it’s just appropriate that I do this tag. This was created by two of my favorite beauty bloggers Amelia and Estee. Since I don’t have a beauty channel, I decided to just do this on this space.
Favorite balm or treatment?
Korres Lip Butter. I have mine in Mango and it smells so good. When I use it as my night time lip treatment, I always wake up with soft, moisturized lips! This gives your lips a sheer wash of orange tint that’s not very sticky. Just <3.
Favorite eye catching red?
Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Bigbang. Look at that shade. Come on. That shade says it all. If you want to read more about this shade, here’s a link to my review.
I haven’t been feeling my best the past week because my hyperacidity attacks are at its peak again. I thought I got it under control until l took a few sips of Matcha Latte from Happy Lemon 2 Sundays ago. Ika nga nila, masarap ang bawal. Caffeine is my biggest trigger and my hyperacidity acts up and as a result, I couldn’t breathe properly because too much acid produces too much air in my stomach. I feel so bloated when this happens.
So I am back to my usual medication, and I am back to eating small frequent meals throughout the day. Bummer.
Anyway, enough of my health issues. Sharing you another face of the day post!
Face. I finally used my Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in Beige. I seriously need to put out all my base products so I could use them all up. This foundation is slightly watery so it’s very lightweight but gives a beautiful dewy, medium coverage. I used Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Sand to cover the redness around my nose and some hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. For blush, I used Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Berry Pop to give my cheeks some color. Since I am oily, I used Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder to set my base. This is an awesome powder since it makes my face looks amazingly flawless. I then set everything with MAC fix+ setting spray. Continue reading FOTD #5 – Flawless Base→
You know when you have so much makeup that you already ignore most it? Makeup hoarders, raise your hands. Agree with me? I think my addiction is beyond control already. I know, sad.
Recently, I found some awesome lip products in my stash that I haven’t been using much. I was looking for cheaper alternative to MAC lip pencils when I found these ones from Ever Bilena. The shade that I have is HOT PINK. I swatched all the pencils and not all are creamy and pigmented. HOT PINK is one of the nicer shades. I fill my lips with this pencil and then top it with Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Gloss in Berry Brilliance and you get luscious berry lips. I love the fact that this lip combo is just 300 pesos. Ever Bilena lip pencil is only 100 pesos and I got the Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Gloss for 200 pesos from Bonmarche. I checked their site at the moment and the price is now 210 pesos though. It’s still a good price I believe. The gloss is not very sticky and stays on the lips for a good 2-3 hours. EB lip pencil is a no-brainer. It’s pigmented, cheap and it works. I really love this lip combo on days when I don’t have too much eye makeup.
My skin has been acting up recently. I’m not breaking out in particular but I see whiteheads sprouting in places that has been clear before. I think my skin needs time to breathe so I replaced some items in my skincare routine and stopped wearing heavy makeup.
I am back with another FOTD post! Putting on makeup is the most enjoyable part of prepping for the day. Whether I’d go to office, a date with the bf, it’s just something I really enjoy. Doing posts like this actually force me to look at all my stuff and use them more regularly. You don’t want to see the same products featured in my FOTD posts, right? So these kinds of posts are very helpful in keeping track and making sure I use the makeup I have. Continue reading FOTD #3→
Maybelline Color Elixirs. It’s a new formulation that’s currently the in-thing for drugstore companies. It is a lipstick-lipgloss-balm kind of hybrid product. I think L’oreal also came up with a similar product late last year. I think they’re called Maybelline Lip Polish here in the Philippines. I’ve seen this once in the local counters and they seem to have limited colors and different color names too.
