In love with Colourpop (Review and Swatches)

I first heard of Colourpop through CoffeebreakwithDani and KathleenLights. I saw videos of them swatching their eyeshadows that only cost 5 USD each. Like come on? Really that cheap?! But then I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes so I forgot all about it until I’ve seen videos of them doing swatches of the “lippie stix” which is CP’s version of a lipstick. Again, my weakness is lipsticks so I was curious and bought a few of their eyeshadows and lippie stix from Prettymoody’s IG account. Got the eyeshadow and lippie stix for 350 pesos each. As you can see in the photo, one of the eyeshadows was broken when I got it. Colourpop’s formulation is known to be a very soft, gel-like powder. It feels like cream when you touch it and sets as powder on the lids.  So I just had to press down the crumbs and cracks and they’re sort of back to the original shape.

The lippie stix costs 5USD each too. If you think about it, it’s not really that cheap because it only has 1g of product. MAC has 3.4g. However, if you’re the type who has a lot of lipsticks in your rotation, then you’re good. You won’t be able to finish a tube anyway. 10890877_1584534218456888_1241835932_n

Holiday rush and Christmas wishlists

It’s finally December, yey! I see my schedule already filled with Christmas parties and dinners. I am currently finalizing a Christmas get together with my college barkada. We only meet once a year, I know it sucks, but what can we do, we’re all busy people. I also just prepped our family’s kris kringle 2 days ago and posted the wishlist board near the dining table. It’s not really a board but  an old page of a calendar and I used the clean side to create the wishlist post. All of this is aside from the fact that roads are always jam-packed because of the holiday rush. I seriously hate going out when I know that I’ll be stuck in traffic. But what can I do, I need to do my Christmas shopping. My mom and I had a good headstart last week when we went to Regalong Pambahay warehouse along Pioneer last Saturday. I was in the same compound Wednesday that week because of the Luxasia sale, when I saw that the ad for Regalong Pambahay group of brands. EGG had bags that were 100 pesos only. Ding ding ding~! It got me interested so I asked my mom if she wanted to come with me.

Ordering from BeautyMNL

2014-11-26 01.02.47 2014-11-26 01.03.17 2014-11-26 01.04.45 2014-11-26 01.04.57 2014-11-26 01.05.02

I have an event on Dec 1 and I decided to wear false eyelashes. The first time I used false eyelashes was for a wedding and I did not put it on myself. I knew I needed to practice so I browsed online and found out that Red Cherry lashes are quite good and not very expensive. It costs 160 pesos each pair in Digital Traincase. I was set to order from there but Duo lash glue was out of stock so I browsed online for a lashglue and stumbled upon BeautyMNL’s site. I’ve been to the site before because they’re the sister company of Deal Grocer, which I frequent a lot. Lo and behold, I also found Red Cherry lashes there! I was able to find a lash glue too and they offered free shipping so I ended up ordering from them and not DTC. Heh. (I still love Ms. Sol and DTC though.)

I ordered a total of 4 lashes and 1 lash glue. My total was 940 pesos. I learned that Deal Grocer Platinum and Elite members get to enjoy free shipping! Uhm, yes, I am a platinum member ._.

I ordered it end of day  Friday, Nov 21 and the order arrived on Monday, Nov 24. Their service is super fast. I am very impressed!

All beauty lovers will love this site.  They have makeup, skincare, and haircare items. You can shop for high end brands like Dior, Nars, MAC, Bobbi Brown, etc. but they also have drugstore brands like Revlon, Neutrogena, Max Factor and the like. They also have Tarte, Korres, Buxom, which are brands are that are not yet available locally. After your first purchase, you’ll get 10%   rebate on your succeeding purchases. That’s some nice perk, don’t you think? I think this is a nice way to finish some of your Christmas shopping to avoid traffic (human and cars alike) as well as long lines in stores. They also deliver nationwide so this is a plus for people outside Manila to enjoy products that aren’t usually available locally.

Hope this post helps you with your shopping list! 3 days to go and it’s December, oh yeah! 🙂

*I am not paid to promote this site. It just so happened that I really enjoyed their service.
