My MAC Lip Pencil Collection (Review and Swatches)

I’ve been on a lip pencil spree for the past 3 months already. I don’t even remember how this started because if I remember it correctly, I am not interested in lip pencils before. I find them useless. I guess watching beauty bloggers like Viviana and Lily changed my mind. They’ve been talking about MAC lip pencils for the past months and it got me interested in it again.

My first MAC lip pencil was Cherry which I got 2 years ago? I bought it together with MAC Red here in SM Aura. I thought I needed a red lip pencil to prevent my red lipsticks from bleeding. I also tried NYX lip pencils a few weeks back but didn’t like them because they were too dry. I thought, that’s it, I’m so done with these lip pencils.

Happy Skin Prints Made Pretty Lippies (Review and Swatches)

DSC07541 DSC07547 DSC07549

Hello everyone. I know, I know. I have not posted for 6 months. I was lazy and all because all I want to do during my idle time is sleep and lay in bed. Work has been stressing me out. It hasn’t improved but I am coping. Oh well.

Anyway, let’s get down to business. I am here with a new post about Happy Skin. It’s been a while since I last talked about their products on my blog.  If you’re a Happy Skin fan, by now, you should know that they released a matte version of their moisturizing lippie. The shades that I have here are from their tie up with Plains and Prints. Plains and Prints also release a clothing line with this collection.  Continue reading Happy Skin Prints Made Pretty Lippies (Review and Swatches)

Palgantong Vita White BB Super Cover (Review and Swatches)

Sorry for the lack of posts. It’s been a crazy 2 months for me. I transitioned to a new role at work and I’m preparing for an Aussie trip! So excited! Okay, so let’s hop on to the review.
Palgantong 1

Palgantong Vita White BB Super Cover SPF 30 PA++ ; 30ml

Available at these online shops, BeautyandMineral, BeautyMNL

I got this BB cream as a free gift from Sample Room when I availed of their VIP membership. It was very generous of them to give away a full size product.  I have the shade #10 Light Beige which is the more yellow toned than #20 Natural Beige. Yep, they only have 2 shades.  Palgantong is a Japanese brand and they’re popular for their theatrical loose powder. It’s said to be used by Korean movie stars. L’oreal Moist Matte Lipsticks (Review and Swatches)

Cover

Loreal Matte 2Well, well. I think I may have found a really good matte formula.  This review will be short and quick since it doesn’t need a long intro. (But really, I am just lazy to write a long one.) I bought the first one, Raspberry Syrup, because it was on sale at 400 pesos last May. I didn’t really need a new lipstick (says no beauty lover ever) but the discounted price tempted me and the shade name reminded me of my first Bobbi Brown Lipstick –  Cosmic Raspberry. The color is nothing like the Bobbi Brown one though. Raspberry Syrup is a reddish pink shade that leans a little bit coral. Now for the last two shades, I only got them last week since they were still on sale. (Come on L’oreal, my wallet is empty already.) Spring Rosette is a pretty nice neutral and muted pink. I would call it a nude but many may disagree. It’s a good every day lip color. Glamour Fuchsia is my favorite of the lot. It’s a magenta purple.  I’ve been looking for a matte purple lipstick that won’t look to clownish on me and this is the one. Thanks to Rae for the reco! I’m only wearing Bourjois CC cream and a bit of pencil on my eyebrows on the photos below. Sorry for the change of lighting in the photos. Oh you know, sun.

SwatchesSpring Rosette FaceGlamour Fuchsia FaceRaspberry Syrup FaceThese L’oreal moist matte ones are not drying, stays on pretty long (5-6 hours) and fades pretty nicely. It has this slightly powdery texture that feels lightweight. Super love! <3 These lipticks are still on sale at 400 pesos until June 30, 2015 so grab one if you can! It’s worth it.

P.S. My Glamour Fuchsia broke while I was swatching it. Huhu. They are creamy so make sure not to twist all the way up before you use it. A , warning to you, just in case.

In love with Colourpop (Review and Swatches)

I first heard of Colourpop through CoffeebreakwithDani and KathleenLights. I saw videos of them swatching their eyeshadows that only cost 5 USD each. Like come on? Really that cheap?! But then I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes so I forgot all about it until I’ve seen videos of them doing swatches of the “lippie stix” which is CP’s version of a lipstick. Again, my weakness is lipsticks so I was curious and bought a few of their eyeshadows and lippie stix from Prettymoody’s IG account. Got the eyeshadow and lippie stix for 350 pesos each. As you can see in the photo, one of the eyeshadows was broken when I got it. Colourpop’s formulation is known to be a very soft, gel-like powder. It feels like cream when you touch it and sets as powder on the lids.  So I just had to press down the crumbs and cracks and they’re sort of back to the original shape.

The lippie stix costs 5USD each too. If you think about it, it’s not really that cheap because it only has 1g of product. MAC has 3.4g. However, if you’re the type who has a lot of lipsticks in your rotation, then you’re good. You won’t be able to finish a tube anyway. 10890877_1584534218456888_1241835932_n

My Favorite Face Brushes

My Fave Face Brushes 1withtextI believe that having the right tools are just as important as your makeup collection. I remember lemming over MAC 217 back when I was just starting my makeup hobby because that’s the only thing I can afford in the whole MAC brush line. Everything is so damn expensive.  A few months and tons of youtube videos later, I learned that MAC is not the only brand out there. There are brands that aren’t so expensive that offer quality brushes too, like Real Techniques, Sigma and Zoeva.

Product Empties #1 (plus mini reviews)

Product Empties 1You know that feeling when you see your makeup collection and you think you’d never finish anything? This post is actually a testament that, hear this, I ACTUALLY FINISHED SOMETHING. Not just a thing, but FOUR items in my stash. LOL. Nevermind that 2 items are skincare related, I still feel that sense of accomplishment.

1. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 03 Medium – This is the first concealer that I bought that matched my skintone. The very first one was from Covergirl and it was too pink for me – I gave it away. This is an all around concealer that I use for my undereye area and spots. It conceals spots very well because it has a slightly dry texture. This can be used under the eye too if yours is not very dry. (Retails for 269 pesos, selected Watsons branches, Crossings Department Store)

2. ZA Ever Brow brow pencil in 02 Natural Brown – I bought this pencil thinking it was a dupe for Anastasia Brow Wiz. The nib is tiny just like Anastasia’s but I don’t have the Brow Wiz to compare it with so I am not sure how this compares. The shade is a little bit lighter than what I am currently using – the Majolica Majorca Brow Customize in BR660. I really like this because you can draw finer strokes in your brows which looks more natural than a slanted tip. This also has a spoolie at the other end so no need to grab a separate one. (Retails for 225~ish pesos, selected Watsons branches, Landmark)

3. Origins High Potency Night-a-mins Night Cream – It’s a very emollient cream with citrus scent. I’ve used this night cream for 8 months and I wake up with nicely moisturized skin. I didn’t breakout  despite being heavily scented and that’s a good thing.  Note: Guys,  skincare is something personal and products can have different effects on people.  (US Retail Price: 41 USD, 50ml, Sephora| Origins)

4. Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes (30/pack) -This was one of the items I ordered from drugstore.com when my dad went to the US last December. I wanted to try this since it was on sale at 220 pesos (less than 5 USD). It’s a pretty good makeup remover wipe. The towelette is slightly bigger and thicker than the one from The Face Shop. It slightly stings my eyes though, especially when I got to the bottom of the pack where the towels are soaked more in the solution.  What I did was wrung out the excess solution before I use it. (US Retail Price: 5.79~6.99 USD depends on where you get it, Drugstore.com | Ulta)

I hope this won’t be my last Product Empties post! Looking forward to finishing more stuff ~ hahaha.
